Q&A with Abigail
1. What would your advice be to brides who currently don’t have a planner?
Hire one. Even if your budget is limited, there are always planners who will work at a discount (particularly those who are just getting into the industry) and looking to build their portfolios and gain experience. Don’t assume you can assign tasks to your family and friends and cover your bases. There are so many elements to planning and coordination that you don’t know unless you know, and so much work that goes on behind the scenes that you won’t even think about or realize you need to do until your wedding day…after you see what wasn’t taken care of and everything is a giant dumpster fire.
2. How do you help couples incorporate personal touches into their big day to make it uniquely theirs?
Favors and centerpieces are a great way to do that without having to shape an entire theme around those personal elements (which more often than not ends up very cheesy).
3. Do you offer any services outside of full planning?
Absolutely. We call this the “Boutique” portion of Bella Vie. Whether you are looking for a lavish dessert table, custom gifts and favors for your bridal party or guests, or you want custom signage, table numbers and centerpieces, we have you covered. Charcuterie displays, floral arrangements and bouquets, décor and rental items; you name it. There are very few elements to a wedding that we cannot do, and for those few elements, we have relationships with incredible vendors who can.
4. What do you like to do in the off season for fun?
My life doesn’t have an off-season. Ha. During the winter months when weddings slow down, I throw every kind of holiday party and event you can imagine. I love doing styled shoots and hosting vendor mixers; pretty much anything that allows for collaboration and networking between industry professionals. Anything that gives me an excuse to dress up in theme and go crazy with creativity, I am game for.
