It’s no secret that the Rockies are one of the most gorgeous spots in the entire country, maybe even the world. So, it’s only natural to want to host your wedding here! If you are on the search for a spot that gives you mountain views with a heavy side of luxury, I think I have just the venue for you. As a Colorado wedding photographer, I get the chance to tour venues all across the state. Here’s why you should consider a Broadmoor Wedding.
1 Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906
The Broadmoor wedding venue first opened its doors to guests in 1918. The luxurious resort was the realized dream of philanthropists Spencer and Julie Penrose. Instantly, the hotel became a bit of a landmark, with its blush pink paint standing proudly amidst the Colorado skyline. The Penroses weren’t done once they finished the resort. They added the Penrose Museum near the hotel and continued to build up the area. There’s a good chance that if you spend any time in the area leading up to your wedding, you are going to run across yet another landmark created by the late couple.
My favorite thing about Broadmoor is the level of variety they give you for each part of your wedding. You can start out your day in one of their many guest rooms, getting ready for your celebration. Then, for your ceremony, you will have several spots to choose from. If you want to take full advantage of the surrounding area, I strongly suggest heading over to The Estate House Lawn. This field will be near all the indoor accommodations, but you are going to get some of the best views of the mountains. There are also several paved terraces you can use to surround the house. If you would prefer an indoor ceremony, the Pauline Chapel is the spot for you! With its looming cathedral ceilings and its Spanish Colonial Revival exterior, it is the perfect setting!
Once it’s time for your cocktail hour, you can use one of the multiple terraces so your guests can enjoy drinks with a view. Then, it will be time to head inside for your reception, where you can use Broadmoor Hall, whose absolutely opulent decor will serve as your backdrop. The room features a high ceiling with rich crown molding as well as a brass chandelier to light up the space. You will be able to host up to 1,000 guests. If your party isn’t nearly that big, the venue can provide you with a more appropriately sized dining room, or you can use the South Terrace for an outdoor celebration.
If you are wondering about the Broadmoor wedding photo opportunities, trust me, you are going to have plenty! Snapping a pic with your bridal shower in front of the pink exterior is an absolute must! You can walk around the courtyard and find plenty of photo spots for you and your partner. We’ll also focus on getting the mountains as your backdrop. Trust me, as the sun sets, it’s downright magical!
Finally, let’s chat about all the ways this venue is going to spoil you! Before your wedding day, you are going to work with a Broadmoor team to create your ideal menu. Then, once your day arrives, you are going to enjoy premium food and drinks. They are going to provide you with the tables, the chairs, and the flatware. You are going to have staff on-site to keep your day going. Then, once everything is said and done, you can crash into the hotel in your complimentary suite!
Are you looking for a lavish spot for your Rocky Mountain wedding? Then the Broadmoor wedding venue is your place! Now, you just need the right photographer to help you capture it!
