Hudson Gardens and Events Center is nestled in Littleton, Colorado off of Santa Fe Parkway. This hidden gem offers a picturesque setting for couples seeking a memorable wedding experience. Spanning thirty acres, this venue combines natural beauty with versatile event spaces, making it a sought-after location for weddings and receptions. If you’re seeking an outdoor wedding venue with a similar (yet smaller) feel to Denver Botanic Gardens, this is the spot for you!
Back in 1996, Hudson Gardens transformed from the private estate of Colonel King C. and Evelyn Leigh Hudson into a public botanical garden and event center. I love that now, this spot offers free access to whoever wants to tour the grounds. I often take my kiddos here for a place to run around and enjoy nature. Today, Hudson Gardens is owned and operated by South Suburban Parks and Recreation, with plenty of garden exhibits, trails, and event venues all for free enjoyment!
Hudson Gardens offers a variety of ceremony and reception spaces to suit different wedding styles and guest capacities. Here’s a breakdown! Check out their website for photos or give it a tour.
Space | Type | Capacity | Features |
---|---|---|---|
The Inn at Hudson Gardens & The Inn’s Backyard | Indoor & Outdoor | Up to 175 guests | Historic charm with lush gardens |
The Rose Garden & The Bloom Room | Indoor & Outdoor | Up to 175 guests | Elegant pergola, rose garden, modern reception space |
Monet’s Place & The Pavilion | Outdoor (only available May-August) | Up to 150 guests | Water lilies, Monet-inspired bridge, open-air reception |
Each venue offers flexible options for cocktail hours, allowing guests to mingle amidst the gardens’ natural beauty before transitioning to the main reception area.
Each wedding package includes complimentary tables and chairs for both the ceremony and reception, two dressing areas, a catering preparation area, and free parking! Couples also have full access to the gardens and natural terrains for their wedding photography.
This is the part to keep in mind: Hudson Gardens requires couples to select catering services from their list of preferred vendors, hire a professional day-of wedding coordinator, and obtain special event insurance. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the rental fee is due with a signed contract to secure the date.
Obviously, at a garden center, there will be plenty of photo opportunities. I just love how colorful outdoor garden weddings can be. While there aren’t really many mountain views, the space itself makes up for it. If you want a colorful and beautiful outdoor wedding space, this is it. The natural lighting throughout the property enhances the overall photography experience, ensuring beautiful, timeless wedding images.
Hudson Gardens & Event Center is one of those places that just feels right for a wedding. It’s got the perfect mix of beautiful outdoor vibes and cozy indoor spaces, making it a great spot for whatever kind of celebration you’re dreaming of. Plus, with all its history and charm, it’s a place where your big day will feel extra special. If you’re tying the knot in the Denver area, it’s definitely worth checking out! Once you have your venue, reach out to me for your photography! I would be so honored to capture a beautiful, colorful wedding here at Hudson Gardens (plus it’s super close to where I live in Highlands Ranch area).
