A Joyful Denver LDS Temple Wedding

A couple on their wedding day walks across the street from the Denver LDS temple wedding that they just had on a beautiful summer day

Before I share all the gorgeous details from this Denver LDS temple wedding, I want to introduce you to the couple behind it all—Carter and Gisele. They found each other on a dating app called Mutual. (If you know LDS dating, you’ve probably heard of it!) They matched in June 2024 and went on their first date just a month later. They spent their first outing at a little ice cream shop in Heber City, Utah called Dairy Keen. (Yes—Keen, not Queen.) That simple, sweet moment became the perfect start to their story.

Both of them described that first meeting as something special. They said they saw a light in each other that they’d never seen before—and from that point on, things moved quickly in the best way. They fell in love fast and felt strongly that God wanted them to be together. Once they knew they wanted forever, Carter started planning the perfect proposal.

He knew Gisele well enough to understand she didn’t want a big crowd or anything too flashy—she wanted romance, intention, and something peaceful. So during a visit to Carter’s family home over Christmas break, he surprised her with a sunset picnic on the family farm on December 27th. It was intimate, meaningful, and completely perfect.

A Beautiful Summer Wedding Day at the Denver LDS Temple

The weather on their wedding day was exactly what you hope for in Colorado—those signature bold blue skies, sunshine, and a comfortable breeze. They scheduled their sealing for noon at the Denver LDS Temple, but I arrived earlier to capture a sweet first look just behind the temple grounds. The couple shared a quiet moment before the day’s hustle began, and their love and excitement practically radiated.

After their temple sealing, they exited to cheers and hugs from Gisele’s immediate family and their close friends. There’s always something special about that moment—the temple doors open, and everyone is waiting with open arms and teary eyes. It never gets old.

Gisele looked absolutely stunning in her gown from, and Carter was beaming from ear to ear the entire time. Her bouquet was vibrant and full of bright colors, beautifully arranged by Carter’s mom, Kelly who co-owns Ivy Wild Creative. The flowers were such a personal touch—not just because they were gorgeous, but because they were crafted with so much love and intention. You can see in the rest of the decor just how much love and thought was put into the beautiful day!

Bridesmaids, Blue Dresses, and the Best Hype Team

Their wedding party deserves its own little spotlight, honestly. The bridesmaids wore lovely light blue dresses that perfectly complimented the bold floral palette. The groomsmen brought their energy too, and together, this group was the ultimate hype team. From getting ready to the dance floor, they were nonstop love and laughter.

Sometimes you get a wedding party that’s just there to show up and smile—but this crew? They brought the joy all day long and made sure Carter and Gisele felt fully celebrated from start to finish.

A Reception Full of Heart at The Pinery at the Hill

After the sealing and temple photos, the party moved to The Pinery at the Hill in Colorado Springs. The Pinery was such a perfect space for the reception—elegant but warm, with big windows and beautiful views. It created a great mix of classic and modern, which matched Carter and Gisele’s vibe so well.

The reception started off with heartfelt toasts, plenty of happy tears, and lots of laughter. And when the music started? Things really got fun. One of the absolute highlights of the evening was when the DJ started playing traditional Brazilian dance music. Gisele’s family came ready to party—and they were more than happy to teach guests a few dance moves. It was such a fun way to bring both cultures together on the dance floor.

There’s something so contagious about that kind of joy. The dance floor was packed, the smiles were constant. And even if guests didn’t know the steps, they were fully into the moment.

Personal Touches That Made the Day

One of the most special things about this day was how personal it all felt. From the proposal on the farm to the florals designed by the groom’s mom, Carter and Gisele made sure their wedding reflected their story and their values.

It was also really sweet for me, personally, because I met Kelly—Carter’s mom—at another wedding we both worked. When she told me she loved my light and bright style and asked me to photograph her son’s wedding, I was so honored. It meant a lot coming from someone who knows how much heart goes into every detail.
